| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ( I ) COL. 1:13-20 & ROMANS 3:24-25 - JESUS ( GOD ) PURCHASES HIS CHURCH WITH HIS OWN BLOOD - PART 2 13. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14. In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17. And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20. And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. - Colossians 1:13-20 In Pauls� letter to the Colossian christian, he states that Gods� Son is the head of the church ( see also Eph. 5:23 ) which is His body. Paul further explains that church, Christs� body, has received redemption ( was purchased ) through the blood of Gods� Son. Once again from the evidence of other scripture passages in the writings to the Colossians, the Son of God, Jesus Christ, has redeemed His church of whom He is the Head with His own blood on the cross. Thereby, confirming without doubt or question that Jesus Christ is the God who purchased the church with His blood as written about in Acts 20:28. Moreover are these words from Paul to the Roman Christians; 24. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; - Romans 3:24-25 Redemption is in Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ has redeemed, that is to say that He has purchased His church ( His body of whom He is the head ) and that purchase was made with His own blood. Jesus Christ is the God written about in Acts 20:28 who purchased His church with His blood. Therefore, Jesus Christ who was a physical man on earth was at the same time God on earth. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
