Introduction

Welcome to the History of the West Valley-Mission Community College District Police Patch. I hope this page is informative as well as entertaining. I would like to thank the officers of the department (both past and present) who have helped out with information on the patch and department along with dates. The College Logo

The college logo in the middle of the seven point star is no longer used by the college district. This logo was the first logo used when West Valley College was established in 1963. As of the writing of this web page, there is no current plan to incorporated the current district logo into the current patch. The current college district logo can be veiwed at the West Valley-Mission College District web site. There was talk a few years ago about changing the logo in the middle 7 point star to the California State Seal. Will it change? Or will it be kept that way as a reminder of the department's history? Here is a prodotype of a design the department experimented with in the 2006 but was never implemented (Future Patch).
