We got to meet Debora for the first time on that weekend, as she had been given up for adoption at birth and separated from her biological mother for several years. It was a very happy reunion. Hmmm, I wonder if the standing order of myself, Debora, and Jenna in this picture could be interpreted as a political metaphor?
Both Debora and Delores came from Oregon to visit all of our relatives (mom's side of the family).
Pictured above in Eileen and Ken's kitchen are: (seated in the front row, left to right) my dad's youngest sister Brenda (from Illinois, she's a real ham!); my dad's younger sister, Jeanne; and Ken.
Back row (standing, left to right): Jenna; my mom; Jeanne's wife, Sarah (yes, they're lesbians); Eileen; and me (looking like a morphed-out zombie).
That purple dinosaur atrocity in the middle is a Christmas pinata that Jeanne and Sarah (I consider them both my aunts) brought with them from their home in New Mexico (there was no candy in it, and we never got around to breaking it).
Pictured are (from left to right) my mom, my dad, me (holding my NHS certificate), my grandpa (mom's father), and my grandma (mom's mother).
Pictured (from left to right): my dad's younger brother, Jimmy (from California); my mom; me (I wasn't on the steps so I look shorter than I actually am in this picture); my grandma's best friend, Dorothy; my cousin, Travis (Tom's brother, standing on the steps); my other grandma (dad's mother, in the red dress); Tom's bride, Jamie (wearing the wedding dress); Tom (a member of the U.S. Air Force); Franny (Tom's mother, one my dad's younger sisters); Franny's husband, Allen (Tom's father, Franny's husband); Jenna (another rare picture of my sister, she HATES being photographed); and my dad (he got half-cut out of the picture, HA! HA!)
