Attack | Description |
Kitty Magic | Rini transforms her Lunaball into a small object of her choice. |
Pink Sugar Heart Attack | If it works, a stream of hearts flies out of Minimoon's wand which does minimal damage but gives Sailor Moon the chance to attack. Also note the annoying background music. |
Twinkle Yell | Super Minimoon's attack |
Minimoon, would you like a Hot Pocket? ......An Eggo? No, Minimoon, we don't knaw on our kitty. Anyways...
As you may recall, Rini first appeared in the Sailor Moon R season. Well, she's baaaack, and now they've made her a Sailor Scout too (I miss Wicked Lady already)! In the R season, Rini's was sent back from the 30th century to the present day so that she could retrieve the Imperium Silver Crystal. The crystal was the key to awakening Neo-Queen Serenity from her slumber. In the S season, Rini returns as Minimoon; this time she was sent back so that she could train to become a Sailor Scout, just like mommy. Minimoon has a cute little pink wand to go with her pink hair and pink outfit. She uses this wand to send streams of pretty pink hearts at her enemies as a distraction. That is, if she can get it to work. Half the fun is just watching Minimoon's frustration as her wand experiences fender-bender. When it finally does work, Minimoon is able to distract enemies long enough for Sailor Moon to wind herself up and blindside them with a Moon Spiral Heart Attack or Rainbow Moon Heartache.
Rini acts a lot like Serena; the fact that Rini is about eight and Serena is fourteen says a lot about the latter's maturity level. The two of them often engage in arguments, skirmishes, and vicious bathtub brawls. A good portion of the humor in the cartoon emanates from this red-eyed, pink-headed "spore", especially when Serena is around. Rini, like many girls between the ages of five and eight, is particularly good at getting what she wants. This skill in part is due to her Lunaball, though. Often she would use her Kitty Magic in the R season to transform the ball into an umbrella and twirl it around, casting people into a hypnosis. Being a defender of love and justice (and cheesecake) is quite a tall order for just an eight-year-old (I'm assuming she's eight), but Rini seems to handle it rather well. When they're not bickering, she and Sailor Moon work well as a team. Now this probably shouldn't surprise me, with Sailor Moon being an anime cartoon and all, but how weird is it that the writers try to get Rini involved in romantic sub-plots. I mean come on, she's just a kid, her meatballs haven't even come in yet!
