Potato Onion Soup

Potato Salad

Tender Pork Chops
4 to 6 potatoes, sliced, then cut in half
1 medium onion, diced
enough water to cover potatoes and onions
1 can evaporated milk
1/4 cup margarine or butter
salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:
     Cook potatoes and onions until tender, over medium-high heat. Turn down to medium heat, add remaining ingredients. Bring to a slight boil. Remove from heat.
     Serve with saltines.

Serves 6-8

note: You can't leave out one item. Once, I ran out of butter, but I decided to make it without. The soup just didn't taste right. You can also add a cup of ham if you like.
