The new Summer Schedule was released today and the Dragons were bumped up to the E Division. The first game for the Dragons is June 22nd at 9PM vs the Spooky Lizards. This is just the begining of a challenging week of play for teh Dragons as they play three time in 5 days - following up with games on Saturday June 25 and Sunday June 26 at nine and ten respectively.

Top Seed Loses in First Round
Goon Squad Drops Dragons Like Bad Habit (6/13)

The Goon Squad beat the Draogns in the first round of the playoffs last Wednesday 4-3. In a game marred by chippy play, the Dragons could not cover the key player on the oppostion and he scored 3 of the 4 goals and assited on the fourth. This marks the end of the spring season for the Dragons who now look forward to the summer session.
Schedules are due out on Monday June 13th.

Dragons Top Seed in Playoffs
Forfeit Win by Agent Orange Gives Dragons #1 Seed (6/4)

When Agent Orange forfeited to the Dragons on Saturday, it gave the Dragons the #1 seed for the upcoming playoffs. The win gives the Dragons a 9-3 record and a date with the Goon Squad on Wednesday June 8th at 9PM.

This marks the first time in five seasons that the Dragons finished with a winning record. Stay tuned for more news as the Dragons head into the playoffs.

Winning by Losing
Goon Squad Wins, but Loses Two Points (5/22)

The got the most unique win last week. The Goon Squad actually won the game played wednesday night 3-2, but in a bizarre turn of events, forfeited the game to the Dragons after rink and league officials discovered that they used an illegal player.

This in effect wipes out any stats from that game but ups the Dragons record to 8-2 with a pair of games left against Agent Orange. Dennis Connors scored twice or at least thought he scored twice in the first period, and then GS started to pressure the Dragons defense. Goon Squad outshot the Dragons 32-13, but all was nullified when it was discovered that the goalie used by GS, was not on their roster and actually signed in as one of their regular players.

Up next for the Dragons is Agent Orange at 8PM on Wednesday May 25th.

Dragons Split Pair
Shockers Win, No Army Loses (5/12)

The Dragons upped their record to 7-2 with a split of two games over the past two Wednesdays. The Shockers put the Dragons down with a 4-1 win over the outmanned Dragons and the Dragons rebounded with a 5-1 win over winless No Army this past Wednesday.

With starting netminder Eric Vieweg out with strep throat, Dave Spencer stepped in for him against the Shockers and but his effort and the effort of the entire squad lacked something that night and the Dragons could not mount any threat at all against the Shockmeisters. But this past wednesday with a full compliment of players and Vieweg back in net, the Blanc et Rouge put together an almost complete game to come away with their 7th win in nine tries.

Scoring against NA was Jim Gaglione (2g), whom scored on one of the most stylish goals in recent memory, Doug Stewart (1g 1a), Mike Connors (1g 1a), and Dennis Connors (1g). Adding helpers were Kathy Higgins, Dave Carter and Rit Carter. Vieweg stopped 25 of 26 shots on net and the rest is history.

Up next is the Goon Squad next Wednesday night at 10PM.

Dragons Eeek Another One Out
Goon Squad Falls (4/29)

The Dragons upped their record to 6-1 with a hard fought 6-4 win over second place Goon Squad friday night. With most hands on deck for the Dragons, the game went back and forth all nigfht. GS scored first and the Dragons answered with a pair and then after 1 period it was knotted at 2. In the second period the Dragons managed to lead at the end of the period 4-3. But with 3:46 left in the third the Squad scored to tie things up at 4. And things were looking a bit dicey as the Goon Squad seemed to be peaking at just the right time to finish off the Blanc et Rouge. But with a face off in the GS end Mike Connors scored right from the face off beating the Goon Squad goalie who might not have even seen the shot at all. Connors then added an empty netter with no time left to finish the scoring.

Dragon goalie Eric Vieweg did stop 26 of 30 shots on the night, coming up big when it REALLY counted. Leading the scoring tonight was Mike Connors with a pair of goals and a pair of assists. Also netting a pair of goals was Jim Gaglione and Doug Stewart added 1 and 1. Finishing out the scoring was Dennis Connors with just one goal. Adding the ever present helpers was Dave Shelto and Chris Szymula.

Up next for the Dragons is the Shockers next Wednesday 5/4 at 10PM.

Where's Ugie?
Defenseman Gone Missing (4/24)

Many reporters in the writers pool asked the Dragons GM that very question on Saturday night. And what they got was double talk, inuendo and gobbledeygook. The team had no response the the inquiry on the long standing Dragon. Some have speculated that's he's in rehab, or has gone on a month long sabbatical to Shao Lin monastery. But to this point team officials are not talking leaving many to wonder "Where's Ugie?".

Another "Classic" Dragons Win
Win 5-3 in Power Play Game (4/24)

In classic Dragons fashion the team won last night 5-3 over an extremely shorthanded No Army team. On a perpetual power play all night the Dragons managed to score just enough to come away with the win. And we were outshot 30-22!

In net for the first time in almost 2 years, Dave Spencer stopped 27 of the 30 shots on him for the night. Reuniting the East Hartford Mafia, Mike and Dennis Connors, was the best thing for the Dragons last night. They came away with 7 points on the night. Dennis had 2 goals and 2 assists and Mike had 3 helpers. Also scoring for the Dragons were Rit Carter (2g 1a), and Doug Stewart (1g 1a). And adding an asist on the night was Jim Gaglione.

Up next for the Blanc et Rouge is the Goon Squad on friday night 4/29 at 9PM.

Dragons Split Pair
Record Now at 4-1 (4/21)

The Dragons split a pair of games since last saturday, losing 3-2 in overtime to the Shockers and beating Agent Orange 4-1 last night leaving the Dragons at 4-1 for the season.

On Saturday, playing with only 1 sub the Dragons took a 2-0 early in the second period, but then things started to go south. The Shockers came back to tie the game at 2 with 13 seconds left in the game and then scored early in OT to take the game away from the Blanc et Rouge.

Wednesday night, the Dragons got back to their winning ways with a 4-1 win over Agent Orange. AO scored first less than 2 minutes in but the again short handed (3 subs) Dragons scored the next 4 goals, three in the first period to take the W. The AP writers on hand are all shaking their heads as the Dragons continue to outshoot their opponents 45-39 on saturday and 37-25 last evening. Goalie Eric Vieweg has been quoted as saying "Where's the shots?!?!"

Scoring on saturday were Kathy Higgins and Doug Stewart on helpers from Jim Gaglione (2), Mike Connors (1), and Stewart (1). Vieweg stopped 36 of 39 shots in the loss. On Wednesday night, Gaglione was a scoring machine as he scored all 4 on helpers from Doug Stewart (3), Dave Shelto (1), Dennis Connors (1), and Rit Carter (1). Vieweg on the night stopped 24 of 25 shots. Up next for the Dragons is No Army on saturday night at 9 PM.

What in the World in Going on Here?
Dragons continue to win (4/13)

The world was stood on its ear last night as the Dragons made it 3-in-a-row with a 3-2 win onver the previously undefeated Goon Squad. Playing with a short bench the Dragons made the most of who was there. Then late in the first period, The Schmoo arrived and things settled down for the most part. Strange that Chris had the affect over the squad tonight....

Once agin paying dividends was newcomer DAve Shelto, scoring two goals including the winner with less than 3 minutes left in the third. Dave finished with the 2 goals. Jim Gaglione added the other and two assists, Doug Stewart finally is living up to the hype written about him in the tabloids in the pre-season and added an assist.

But the main man for the Blanc et Rouge was goalie Eric Vieweg, stopping 37 of 39 shots on net. Up next for the Dragons is the Shockers again on Saturday 4/16 at 9PM.

Oops They Did it Again
No Army Falls to Dragons (4/6)

The Dragons made it two in a row Wednesday night with a 6-4 win over No Army. Leading the way the EH Mafia's Mike Coonors with a 4-goal night. Also scoring was newcomer Dave Shelto and Kathy Higgins. Despite what he called on off night, netminder Eric Vieweg still managed to stop 19 of 23 shots.

It seemed like an off night for the usually busier Vieweg, some insiders say that he actually had a cooler in net with him was seen downing a few cold ones with all the down time he had.

Adding helpers were Jim Gaglione (3), Higgins (1), Chris "The Schmoo" Szymula (1), Dave Carter (1), and Mike Ugliorolo (1). Up next for the Dragons is the undefeated Goon Squad next Wednesday 4/13 at 9PM.

Dragons Open With Win
End Scoreless Streak with 4-2 Victory (3/30)

With the return of the E. H. Mafia (Dennis Connors) and Doug Stewart the Dragons notched their first win of the season in the first game. Knocking off the Shockers 4-2 on Wednesday night. Also added was winger Dave Shelto (apologies for spelling Dave) and that move paid immediate dividends as #17 helped on the first goal of the season. By the way nobody in the writers pool had Jim Gaglione to score the first goal of the season.

Gaglione had the hattrick tonight with the returning Stewart adding the other goal. Adding helpers besides Shelto were Stewart (2) and Mike Connors (2). This game also saw the return of Eric Vieweg in net as he made 29 saves on 31 shots.

Up next is No Army on Wednesday April 6th at 9PM.

GAMETIME!
After Month Dragons Back in Action! (3/26)

Well the Gods be praised. The Dragons will be back in action after almost a full month off. The Spring season starts for the Blanc et Rouge on Wednesday night March 30th.

A few new faces will be joining the squad this season. Team scouts picked up a couple of free agents from the now defunct Horsemen. Defenseman Joe Margolis and center Rick Urquizu (hope the spelling is right Rick). Also rejoining the squad is winger Doug Stewart. Stewart it turns out was on found in the Australian outback with Ricky Williams (Stewart has tested clean for illegal drugs). Back in between the pipes for the Dragons is Eric Vieweg. While everyone else thought he was retiring, it turns out that his agent took everything he owned and now has creditors beating down his doors clamoring for payments on the pool, boat, jewelry and hookers! And finally, back after an extended medical redshirt period is the East Hartford Mafia's Dennis Connors!

Gametime is 9pm on Wednesday the 30th vs the Shockers.

Spring Schedule Announced
New Season Forth Coming EVENTUALLY! (3/9)

PISA released the Spring schedules today. The only drawback is that the Dragons do not open until Wednesday March 30th, yes you read it correctly the 30th! All this means is that the team doctors have okayed most of the roster to cycle up on their steroid program (PISA has not testing policy you know) and to continue their off-season conditioning programs as prescribed.

For details on the schedule, please go to the Schedule link on the left. We continue to be in the F Division and the same teams are back for the most part. Agent Orange, No Army, Goon Squad and Shockers are all back. Its a five team division as well.

See you all on the 30th!

Finale Goes to the Shockers
4-0 Loss Caps Season (3/3)

The Dragons were shutout in their second consecutive game Tuesday night, 4-0 vs the Shockers. This game wraps up a disappointing Winter campaign for the ole Blanc et Rouge, 1-10-1.

Not much else to say about this except that team management is looking forward to next season and already perusing existing contracts and looking the free agent list for this offseason. Team management expects that all players will get their mandatory off-season conditioning program going and be in tip-top shape for next season when that begins in a couple of weeks.

Agent Orange Whitewashes Dragons
Ninth Loss for Dragons (2/24)

The Dragons were shutout 4-0 last evening at the hands of Agent Orange. Playing with a skeleton crew due to the early start time, the Dragons could not manage the offense needed to break through against Agent Orange.

Allowing a mere 34 shots on net, the Dragons allowed three goals in the first and only one in the second. But it was enough to put the Dragons down for the ninth time this season in eleven games.

The final game of the Winter campaign is next Tuesday March 1st at 10PM against the Shockers.

Special thanks to Dennis C.

For the impetus to create a Dragons web page. And for more than just a little of the HTML!
