Enrique Soldano de Montoya del Castille
When I initially created Enrique, I had imagined a cross between Chris O'Donnel's D'artangion and Antonio Banderas' Zorro; a character who was arrogant, yet charming and dashing. What I actually got was, well a monster.
Enrique is a xenophobic, hateful, and bitter man. Initially, he is more a product of the other characters' reactions and early treatment of him. In my first session, Enrique fought a duel with Reynaldo de Ricci. A duel sparked by insults, a short temper, and overconfidence. Constant jibes afterwards, I think actually put me as a player on the defensive. Enrique, as you see him now is a product of those first few sessions along with my acceptance and going with the flow so to speak. I actually wrote Enrique's history after the fifth or sixth session and didn't even start my journal entries until almost a year after the campaign started. At the time I wanted to find a way to explain how he'd developed into such an "arse".
I hope, that my journal entries can provide some insight into who Enrique is, why he is that way, and illustrate how he has changed since the start of the campaign. I'm always open to comments on Enrique so if you have any thing to say or even just hate mail, you can reach me by email (see the bottom of this page for my email).
Until then,
E.M.
