New Schedule Posted
Summer Season Starts 6/22 (6/20)

They have said that the best way to get over bad losses is to get right back in the game, well hat seems to be the case for the Dragons as the Summer 07 season starts this friday at 9PM. See the Schedule link for more info.

Dragons DropPair to Devils
Injuries Play Major Role in Losses (6/20)

With the injuries mouting almost by the minute, the Dragons dropped the final two games of the F-Division finals this past weekend. With Forward Doug Stweart out with a hamstring tear, and Ray Glowicki coming up lame with a bad ankle the Dragons went to OT in Game 2 only to fall 2-1. Game three saw more injuries as defenseman Dave Shelto went down in Game 2 with major ankle sprain and torn ligaments to be out oin game 3. All this led to a 5-1 loss and gave the Dirt Devils the F Division crown.

Game 1 Bounces Dragons Way in OT!
Stewart Finishes Dirt Devils (6/10)

Some times its better to be lucky than good. And maybe Sunday was one of those days for the Dragons as they overcame a goal in the first ten seconds of the game and a 4-2 deficit to beat the Dirt Devils in game 1 of the F Division finals sunday night.

To say things were a little off would be an understatement but the blanc et rouge kept pluggin away and Doug Stewart scored the game winner in OT. This sets up a very tough game 2 for saturday afternoon.

Also scoring today for the Dragons were Ray Glowicki despite a painful and troublesome elbow injury, Stewart twice, Jim Gaglione and what would a Dragons win be without hearing once again from the Condor! Adding helpers were Cahd Hosegood - 2, Mike Connors and the Condor! In net Tony Moura recovered in time to set up the overtime and stop 23 of 27 shots.

Game 2 is saturday June 16th at 4pm. All Dragons available need to be on hand as a few members of the team could be missing.

Dragons Gain Finals!
Take Down Bombers 5-1 (6/7)

Playing a team twice in a row let alone four times in one season is always difficult. And the Blueline Bombers found out how true that is on Wednesday night. The Dragons behind the hattrick of Chad Hosegood and the reach of George "The Condor" Dunnery knocked the top seed out of the playoffs and gained the division finals with a 5-1 win.

The first game of the finals is Sunday 6/10 at 7PM opponent TBD.

The Dragons never trailed and seemed to play their best game of the season when it counted most Wednesday night. Although it was much closer a game than the score indicates. The Dragons scored three times in the final 4:30 of the game to ice it - all by Hosegood. But the goal of the night belongs to Dunnery as he scored the go ahead goal with the game tied at 1 at teh midway point of the second stanza. With the ball loose around the Bomber net, The Condor spun around and used his reach to just slap the ball past an unsuspecting Bomber goalie.

Ray Glowicki, nursing a wakebaording injury, got the Dragons on the board with the first goal of the game with a booning shot apst teh Bopmber netminder in the first period. Tony Moura playing like a man possesed stopped 42 of 43 shots on the night. The nex topponent is to be determined as the other semi-final is to be played saturday night.

Bombers Drop One on Dragons
4th Seed for Blanc et Rouge (6/4)

Going into the game Sunday night with the Blueline Bombers the Dragons had a chance to finish ythird and also to determine there own opponent in the playoffs. Well with the win by Agent Orange over the Dirt Devils the former no longer had any merit but with they did control who they play in teh upcoming playoffs. A win meant Dirt Devils and a loss meant the Bombers. Well with a late third period goal by the Bombers the Dragons now play on Wednesday against the Bombers with the 3-2 loss.

With the entire roster now eligible the Dragons should be a force to reckon with in the post-season. But need more than 2 goals per game to win.

The next game is on Wedensday at 9PM.

The Stars Come out in Terryville!
Dragon Sighting at Little League Game! (5/20)

Apparently the news was out that Dragon management was making an appearance in Terryville over the weekend and it brought out a former Dragon to begin the contract process without his agent present. Now while many present and former Dragson have negotiated their own contracts in the past, this appearnace by defenseman Jim Hannon, took management by surprise.
Apparently his deal to go on the rubber chicken speaking circuit was not all that it ws cracked up to be, and he seems to be getting the dek itch again. His last speaking gig in Sheboygan to a group of blue haired shuffleboard players was the straw that broke the camels back and he has broken his contract for any future speaking engagements and is currently in litigation to resolve the issues. Until these are finalized he won't be free to re-join the Dragons.

Winning Streak Ends
Dirt Devils Make it 3-in-a-Row (5/20)

With a possible #1 seed on the line the Dragons dropped a 4-2 decision to the Dirt Devils on May 13th. The loss also ended a mild 3-game winning streak for the Dragons.
The teams traded pairs of goals in the first period and ebdured a scoreless second but the wheel scame off the blanc et rouge a bit in the third as they allowed another pair of DD scores.
Scoring for the Dragons were Young Ray GLowicki and Dave Shelto. Adding an assist was Doug Stewart. Net minder Tony Moura kept the boys close as he stopped 19 of 23 shots on the night.
With the playoffs looming there are a couple of Dragons still needing games played to make the playoffs, Dave Spencer and Chris Szymula both still need one game (only one left) to qualify for the post season.
The Dragons close out the regular season on June 3, at 7PM against the Blueline Bombers.

Playoff Schedule Posted
Playoffs Start on 6/6 (5/8)

The playoff schedule was posted for the F-Division and the tournament starts on Wed June 6th at 9PM with the 1 vs 4 game. See th eSchedule link for all the details.

Dragons Survive 2-1!
Almost Snatch Defeat from the Jaws of Victory (5/8)

As wins go, the first 29 minutes were pretty much standard Dragon fare. Survive the rushes from the opposition and score on breakaways. The Dragons took a 2-0 lead into the final minute only to just spare themselves an overtime sesion when a the tying goal was disallowed after the buzzer sounded. the win over Iceberg Slim gives the Dragons a modest 3-game winning streak and qualifies them for the playoffs. With only 2 games left the Dragons can still finish anywhere from first to fourth.

With goals from Jim Gaglione (first game back after abdominal surgery) and Doug Stewart the Dragons came away with their 5th win of the seaosn and evened the record at 5 wins and 5 losses. George Dunnery addded an assist on the night and netminder Tony Moura stopped 27 of 28 shots on net.

Up next is the Dirt Devils whom the blanc et rouge has not seen since the first two games of the season on May 13th at 7PM.

Two Game Winning Streak Again!
5-0 and 3-1 Wins (4/29)

Well streaks come and streaks go and the Dragons again have a 2-game winning streak. With a 5-0 win over Iceberg Slim and a 3-1 win over the Blueline Bombers the Dragons have drawn to within 1 game of .500 for the spring season.

Again the Dragon beat reporters were banned from the Iceberg game but were allowed to attend the Blueline game today (4/29).

On two goals from Doug Stewart and 1 from Rit Carter the Dragons held the Bombers in check despite being outshot 30-23. TOny Moura was outstanding in between the pipes and the D blocked more shots than usual to keep the Bombers at bay.

Up next for the blanc et rouge is with Iceberg Slim on May 6th at 7PM.

Dragons had 2-game Winning Streak
Offensive Outburst in Latest Loss (4/29)

A modest 2-game winning streak came to an abrupt recently as the Dragons scored a season 6 goals in a 7-6 loss to Agent Orange which left them 2-5 with five games to play in the spring season. A game played last week had no reporter present and the rink management has released no details concerning the outcome of the Dragons latest effort.

Despite rumors of a Dragons management collapse, insiders report confidentially that the team is sound financially and team ownership is not planning on selling the franchise to a group midlle eastern investors.

The latest win was a short-handed 3-1 win over Agent Orange. As stated previoulsy the 4/23 game against Iceberg Slim had no reporters present mayeb due to the potential for things getting out of hand, or maybe the rink just forgot to inform the media..... one has to wonder.

Up next is a game on 4/29 at 6PM against the Blueline Bombers.

Dragons So Far
1-4 Start After 5 Games (4/6)

It seems as if the Dragons' webmaster has taken a major vacation lately. But after the start the Dragons have had can you blame him? With high hopes a solid season at the start, the lack of goals scored through the first 4 games was a major concern for team management. With only two goals in four games, the management team in place were worried about their jobs. The 0-4 start had them concerned as well.

But game 5 brought about new hope for a fresh start until the team took the floor with only two subs at the start and most of the team veterans missing in action. Mike Connors, Jim Gaglione, Rit Carter, Dave Shelto all were out and rec'd a DNP for the night. That said the guys who were there gutted it out against Iceberg Slim a long time competitor in the F Division.

The game started well for the Dragons as they took the lead about a minute in and scored again at the 6 minute mark. They ended the first period with a 2-0 lead, both goals scored by Chad Hosegood. But the gaem took a left turn somewhere around Albequerque and with 3:20 left in the second found temselves down 3-2 and had the Iceberg boys feelin their oats, and gettin quite smug.

The third period was another story as Doug Stewart tied it up two and a half minutes in. Just after Stewart's goal defenseman Mike Ugliorolo got into each other and Ugliorolo ended up with a game misconduct and the Dragons bench got just a bit shorter. The whole story behind that incident is one for the books as the Iceberg player involved was not tossed but the Dragon player was, but could be chalked up to classic Dragon luck I guess.

The game took on another life as Iceberg seemed to get a little fiestier. But the Dragons held their ground and with 1:59 left Ray Glowicki knocked one home from his own blueline! and the Dragons had their first W of the season.

In net Tony Moura was solid as usual stopping 27 of 30 shots on net and there were assist from Dave Carter, George Dunnery, Glowicki and Ugliorolo before he left for the night. Up next for the blanc et rouge is a date with Agent Orange on monday April 9th at 6PM.

F Opener Lost
Dirt Devils Prevail 2-0 (3/4)

Seems like deja vu all over again as the Dragons dropped the season opener of the F Division season. Playing shorthanded, the blanc et rouge could not find the net as they had numerous opportunities to put it home.

As the game wore on it seemed like noone was going to score until the Devils put their first goal home with only 5:40 to play in the game and then added an empty netter in the final minute.

Tony Moura was sharp in net as he stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced, but wasn't enough to save the Dragons from defeat.

Of note, the Dragons were without the services of another longtime Dragons coming back from retirement, as Dave Spencer was list as DNP on the scoresheet. Up next is another matchup with the Dirt Devils on 3/4 at 7PM.

Dragons Open on Saturday
Old Faces Return with Roster Changes (3/1)

As with every new season for the Dragons this one seems no different than most. A bounce back down to F Division and roster changes changes, all the norm for the Dragons team management. But one thing that is different, the ole blanc et rouge has two new-old faces returning to the roster. It seems forever since long time Dragon Chris "The Schmoo" Szymula played, but he is returning this season to test out that surgically repaired knee of his, one has to wonder if he paid a visit to the same hospital as Steve Austin hmmmmm. Also re-joining the team after a long absence is Ray Glowicki, his contract was garnered after long deliberations with a Lithuanian team, it cost management a couple pounds of potatoes and some Martin Rosol kielbasa to get the contract.

As the new season opens saturday for the Dragons, hope spriings eternal but then again this is the Dragons isn't it. After saturday at 4pm the Dragons come right back on Sunday at 7. Busy weekend.

New Schedule Released
Just Call Us Team Yo-Yo (2/22)

With the completion of the Winter Season, the new schedule was released on 2/21. And just call us the yo-yos, we have bounced back down to F-Division after a brief appearance in E yet again.

The new season opens on Saturday March 3 at 4PM followed by game 2 on Sunday March 4 at 7PM. See all the Dragons then!

Hurricanes knock Dragons Off Again
3-1 Loss Ends Season (2/4)

With the Dragons season ending loss to the Hurricanes the Dragons closed out a disappointing winter season at 3-9. Just not having enough offense to match their opponents and being outshot 42-20, the 3-1 loss left the blanc et rouge wondering...... how soon before the F season begins?

Scoring the lone goal for the Dragons was Jim Gaglione on an assist form Doug Stewart. In net goalie Tony Moura stopped 39 of the 42 shots he faced.

What's next? Well it looks like the new season in the F division is ahead with some roster changes. Stay tuned.
